DUI Defense in San Antonio
Arrested for Drunk Driving in San Antonio?
The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) and other law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Texas take drunk driving very seriously. If you have been arrested for drunk driving, you need to take the matter just as seriously. A DUI conviction can cause you to lose your driver's license, damage your reputation, and cost you a significant amount of money. To make matters worse, if you are convicted of a third DUI in Texas, you could be facing a felony conviction and serious prison time.
At The Locke Law Group, we understand how serious a DUI charge is. Our San Antonio DUI lawyer is highly skilled in all aspects of DUI defense, and we will use our knowledge and skills to fight for you. We know that law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and judges are often more interested in securing convictions than securing justice. As a result, we know how to exploit the weaknesses in DUI cases and use these weaknesses to secure the best possible results for our clients.
Our firm is dedicated to protecting the rights of our clients and fighting for their best interests. We know that DUI charges are often unfair and based on circumstantial evidence and unreliable police reports. For this reason, we will thoroughly investigate your case and scrutinize the evidence against you. If we discover that the evidence against you is flawed or that the arresting officer violated your rights, we will use this information to have your charges dismissed.

Texas DUI Penalties
If you are convicted of a first-time DUI in Texas, you will most likely face a Class B misdemeanor. If convicted, you could face up to 180 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,000. You will also likely face license suspension and other penalties.
If you are convicted of a second DUI, you will face a Class A misdemeanor charge. If convicted, you could face up to one year in jail and/or a fine of up to $4,000. You will also likely face license suspension and other penalties.
If you are convicted of a third DUI in Texas, you will face a felony charge. If convicted, you could face anywhere from two years to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000. You will also likely face license suspension and other penalties.
License Suspension
If you are convicted of a DUI, your driver's license will likely be suspended. The length of the suspension will depend on a variety of factors, including the circumstances of your arrest and the number of prior convictions.
Ignition Interlock Device (IID)
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) may require you to install an ignition interlock device (IID) in your vehicle. The IID is a breathalyzer device that will prevent you from starting your vehicle if your blood alcohol concentration (BAC) is over a certain level. If you are required to install an IID, you will have to pay a one-time installation fee and a monthly monitoring fee. You will also have to pay a fee every time you need to have your IID serviced. If you are convicted of a DUI, you will have to pay for the IID. If you are required to install an IID, you may be eligible to have your license suspension reduced.
DUI Education Program
In addition to the penalties listed above, you may also be required to complete a DUI education program. If you are required to take a program, you will usually have to pay for it. You may also be required to take an assessment test before you can enroll in a program.
